Auf insgesamt zwölf Songs demonstriert die Band um Sänger Danny Meyer, den beiden Gitarristen Marco Volpert und Marcel Winkler, Bassistin Lisa Geiß (ex-Arven) sowie Drummer Patrick Lippert ihr besonderes Können. Ob nun mit Pianoklängen, durchgeschlagenen Akustikgitarren oder auch mit anspruchsvollen Gitarrensolos, OVERSENSE bieten auf ihrem zweiten Album eine stilistische Bandbreite, die es besonders in Deutschland nur selten auf diesem hohen kompositorischen Niveau gibt und kreieren einen einzigartigen Sound in Form von schnellen Heavy Metal Tracks bis zu melodiösem Power Rock.

Neben „Mr. Mackies Chase For Love“ stechen insbesondere Songs wie das beinahe achtminütige „Wild Hunt“ hervor, das mit pompösem Orchester, bombastischen Chören und abwechslungsreichen Arrangements eben auch ein virtuoses Gitarrensolo von keinem Geringerem als Sascha Paeth, Starproduzent und Gitarrist von Avantasia enthält. Auch „We’re Gonna Bring You Thunder“, der melodisch pushende Hardrock Arschtritt für überhebliche Selbstdarsteller, die sich für etwas Besonderes halten, verdient mit seinem mitreißenden und brachialen Chorus seine Beachtung. Erneut ins Lyrische geht es mit dem an Rainer Maria Rilkes Gedicht ‘Der Panther‘ angelehnten Titel „Through The Panther’s Eyes“, der sich inhaltlich mit dem rücksichtslosen Umgang des Menschen mit seiner Umwelt und dem Leid eingesperrter Tiere auseinandersetzt. Bei diesem Song setzen OVERSENSE u.a. auf eindrucksvolle Synthie-Effekte und Pianoklänge, die in äußerst melodischen Arrangements gekonnt verarbeitet wurden. Mit dem Bonustrack „Big Bang“ beweisen die anspruchsvollen süddeutschen Musiker, dass auch sie etwas für den Sex, Drugs and Rock ’n’ Roll Mythos über haben und lassen „The Storyteller“ mit jeder Menge Spaß und Humor ausklingen. Auch optisch überzeugt das Album dank des von Sänger Danny Meyer aufwändig gestalteten 16-seitigen Booklets sowie dem stimmungsvollen Frontcover des bekannten Illustrators Bloodboy (Kreator, Caliban, Kataklysm).

As of today OVERSENSE go on a journey through lyrical worlds with their impressive new Melodic Metal masterpiece “The Storyteller”

From today “The Storyteller“, the extraordinary debut album of the Melodic Metal specialists OVERSENSE from Southern Germany tells its thrilling stories garnished with phat headbanger riffs, bombastic orchestras and choirs. It’s almost impossible to find an album with a bigger variety and diversity to offer than “The Storyteller”. At the same time it offers the best possible sounds necessary for Melodic Metal, thanks to the talent of producing of Olaf Reitmeier (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica) and Miro Rodenberg (Edguy, Brainstorm, Rhapsody Of Fire) of the Gate Studio in Wolfsburg. The album is not only a must-have for fans of Edguy, Orden Ogan or Brainstorm; it surely is one of the big surprises of Melodic Metal in 2017! On twelve songs total the band around singer Danny Meyer, the two guitarists Marco Volpert and Marcel Winkler, bassist Lisa Geiß (former Arven) as well as drummer Patrick Lippert demonstrates their exceptional skills. Whether it is through piano sounds, resounding acoustic guitars or also guitar solos, OVERSENSE offer a stylistic range which especially rarely exists on this high compositional level in Germany and they create an unique sound in a variety from fast Heavy Metal tracks to melodic Power Rock.

Besides “Mr. Mackies Chase For Love” songs like the almost eight minutes long track “Wild Hunt” which includes grandiose orchestras, bombastic choirs and varied arrangements, also the virtuoso guitar solo of none other than the star producer and guitarist of Avantasia, Sascha Paeth, stand out in particular. Also “We’re Gonna Bring You Thunder”, the melodic pushy Hard Rock kick up the arse for arrogant self-exposers who consider themselves to be special, deserves attention to its thrilling and brachial chorus. In terms of content the title “Through The Panther’s Eyes” is aligned to Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem ‘The Panther‘ and tackles the reckless dealing of the human being with its environment and the suffering of locked up animals and therefor goes to the lyrical again. In this song, OVERSENSE bet on the use of impressive synthie effects and piano sounds among other things, which are masterly used in extremely melodic arrangements. The bonus track “Big Bang” proves that the fastidious musicians from Germany have something left for the Sex, Drugs and Rock ’n’ Roll myth and ends “The Storyteller” with a lot of fun and humor. The album convinces visually as well, thanks to the elaborate 16 pages booklet designed by singer Danny Meyer as well as the atmospheric front cover by the well-known illustrator Bloodboy (Kreator, Caliban, Kataklysm).
