NEVARIA stimmen mit „Battle Cry“ ihre neue Female Fronted Melodic Metal Hymne für mehr Menschlichkeit an

Anfang Februar veröffentlichte die außergewöhnliche Melodic Metal Formation NEVARIA aus der Wagner-Stadt Bayreuth mit „Reckless“ ihre erste neue Single voller kritischer Töne zum Umgang mit der Pandemie und sorgte damit erneut für internationale Beachtung. 2017 erschien das Debütalbum „Finally Free“ über Dr. Music Records mit dem die Band bei ihren gefeierten Live-Shows die Szene ordentlich aufmischte. Nun legen die inzwischen als Duo agierenden Musiker Tanja Schneider (Gesang) und Markus Spiethaler (Keyboard) mit der zweiten neuen Single „Battle Cry“, die heute am 31.03.2022, ebenfalls über Dr. Music Records erscheint, nach und führen ihre Vision von eingängigem Female Fronted Melodic Metal fort. Für die Aufnahmen holten sie sich Unterstützung von Gitarrist Kim Wölfel, der bereits am Debüt mitwirkte, sowie Daniel Unzner (Dislocated Theory; Ex-Profanity), der mit hammermäßig schnellen Fingern den Bass einspielte. Die junge, ungezügelte Metal Gitarrenarbeit in Kombination mit dynamischem Schlagzeugspiel, einem spürbar druckvollen Bass und anmutigen Keyboard-Melodien, wird dabei vom lebendigen, leuchtenden Gesang der früheren Dawn Of Destiny Sängerin komplettiert. NEVARIA haben, ohne den eingeschlagenen Pfad zu verlassen, auf erfrischende Weise ihren eigenständigen Sound mit Elementen aus der elektronischen Musik weiterentwickelt und beide neuen Tracks wurden, wie auch zuvor das Album von André Hofmann (Nothgard, Wolfchant, New Hate Rising) gemischt und gemastert. Die Fokussierung auf nur noch zwei Songwriter sorgt für einen echten Schub in Sachen Kreativität und der Mix aus harten Gitarren und erfrischenden, elektronischen Vibes, über denen Tanja Schneiders imposante Stimme thront, überzeugt eindrucksvoll. Auch für „Battle Cry“ setzten NEVARIA auf den englischen VeryMetalArt Videokünstler Andy Pilkington (Orden Ogan, Visionatica, Van Canto), der mit dem Lyric-Video das vielschichtige Thema hinter dem markanten Titel mit einer grandiosen audiovisuellen Meisterleistung produziert hat, die dem intensiv bombastischen Song auch die optische Durchschlagskraft beschert. In die gleiche Kerbe schlägt Fotograf Gregor Zimmermann (Uzziel), der NEVARIA in einem dramatischen Licht erscheinen lässt. Der energische Song appelliert an die Menschlichkeit, sich den ständigen Anfeindungen aus verschiedenen Richtungen entgegenzustellen. Vor allem im Hinblick auf das aktuelle Geschehen eine wichtige Botschaft an die ganze Welt. Musikalisch beginnt die neue Single mit einem harten Intro, der filigran in eine epische Melodic Metal Instrumentierung übergeht und von Tanja Schneiders kraftvoller Stimme nach vorne gepeitscht wird. Im Gegensatz zu den treibenden elektronisch anmutenden Synthie-Arpeggios von „Reckless“ setzt „Battle Cry“ mehr auf die Symphonic Metal Wurzeln und verbindet bombastische Keyboard-Passagen mit harten Gitarrenriffs samt druckvollem Schlagzeugspiel. Der Sound zollt ganz klar dem kämpferischen Thema Tribut, denn die sozialkritischen Lyrics von Sängerin Tanja Schneider sind ein leidenschaftlicher Aufruf niemanden einfach so zu verurteilen oder in eine bestimmte Schublade zu stecken. Genauso sollte nicht blind einer Masse nachgeeifert werden ohne seine eigene Meinung zu hinterfragen oder mit fundiertem Wissen zu füllen. Der Text soll zum kritischen Nachdenken anregen, sich für mehr Nächstenliebe einzusetzen und gegen Anfeindungen andersdenkender Menschen oder Kulturen vorzugehen. Die Bedeutung der Texte soll ‘magisch’ sein und der Devise folgen, dass der Hörer sich selbst und seine eigene Geschichte darin wiederfinden kann. Gemäß diesem Credo komponierte die Band die elf Songs auf „Finally Free“ ebenso abwechslungsreich wie intensiv und nahmen in Markus Spiethalers Soundwerkstatt den passenden Sound auf. NEVARIA entführen den Hörer auf ihrem Album nicht nur optisch, dank des von Darkgrove Design (Battle Beast, Apocalyptica, Delain) stilvoll gestalteten Artworks, in kosmische Sphären, sondern begeistern auch mit der richtigen Mischung aus metallischer Härte und feinen Melodien, über denen die Stimme förmlich schwebt. Dies zeigen insbesondere die samt sehr erfolgreicher Musik- und Lyric-Videos veröffentlichten Singles „Life“, „Finally Free“ und „Drowning“, mit denen sie auf sich aufmerksam machten. NEVARIA strike up with their new Female Fronted Melodic Metal anthem “Battle Cry” for more humanity

At the beginning of February, the extraordinary Melodic Metal formation NEVARIA from the Bavarian city of Bayreuth released its first new single “Reckless”, full of critical tones on dealing with the pandemic, and thus once again achieved considerable international success. In 2017, the debut album “Finally Free” was released via Dr. Music Records, with which the band really stirred up the scene with acclaimed live shows. Now acting as a duo, the musicians Tanja Schneider (vocals) and Markus Spiethaler (keyboards) follow up with the second new single “Battle Cry”, released today on 03/31/2022, again via Dr. Music Records, and carry on their vision of catchy Female Fronted Melodic Metal. The young, untamed Metal guitar work combined with dynamic drumming, a perceptibly powerful bass and graceful keyboard melodies is thereby completed by the vivid, brilliant vocals of the former Dawn Of Destiny vocalist. Without leaving the chosen path, NEVARIA refreshingly evolved their independent sound with elements from electronic music and both new tracks were mixed and mastered by André Hofmann (Nothgard, Wolfchant, New Hate Rising), just like the album before. Focusing on just two songwriters provides a real boost in creativity and the mix of hard guitars and refreshing electronic vibes, enthroned by Tanja Schneider’s imposing voice, is impressively convincing. NEVARIA also relied on the English VeryMetalArt video artist Andy Pilkington (Orden Ogan, Visionatica, Van Canto) for “Battle Cry”, who produced the lyric video with the complex theme behind the striking title with a grandiose audiovisual masterpiece giving the intensely bombastic song its visual punch. Photographer Gregor Zimmermann (Uzziel) takes the same line, presenting NEVARIA in a dramatic spotlight. The energetic song appeals to humanity to oppose the constant hostility from different directions. Especially regarding the current events, an important message to the entire world. Musically, the new single starts with a heavy intro that filigree fades into epic Melodic Metal instrumentation and is surged ahead by Tanja Schneider’s powerful voice. In contrast to the driving electronic synth arpeggios of “Reckless”, “Battle Cry” focuses more on the Symphonic Metal roots and combines bombastic keyboard parts with heavy guitar riffs along with punchy drumming. The sound clearly pays tribute to the combative theme, as vocalist Tanja Schneider’s socio-critical lyrics are a passionate call not to judge anyone just like that or to pigeonhole them. Likewise, one should not blindly follow a crowd without questioning one’s own opinion or filling it with profound knowledge. The text is intended to encourage critical thinking, to stand up for more charity and to take action against hostility towards people or cultures with a different way of thinking. The meaning of the lyrics should be ‘magical’ and follow the motto that the listener can find himself and his own story in them. With this credo in mind, the band composed the eleven songs on “Finally Free” in a way that was as varied as it was intense and recorded the appropriate sound in Markus Spiethaler’s Soundwerkstatt. Thanks to the stylish artwork designed by Jan Yrlund from Darkgrove Design (Battle Beast, Apocalyptica, Delain), NEVARIA take the listener into cosmic spheres on their album, but also fascinate with the right mixture of Heavy Metal and fine melodies over which the voice literally floats.
