NEVARIA sind zurück und appellieren mit ihren scharfzüngigen neuen Melodic Metal Singles an die Vernunft und die Menschlichkeit in uns im Umgang mit den aktuellen Ereignissen

Nachdem die außergewöhnliche Melodic Metal Formation NEVARIA aus der Wagner-Stadt Bayreuth 2019 mit ihrem über Dr. Music Records erschienenen Debütalbum „Finally Free“ auch international beachtliche Erfolge erzielte, mischte sie mit gefeierten Live-Shows die Szene ordentlich auf. Mit „Reckless“ hat die Band Anfang Februar ihre erste neue Single voller kritischer Töne zum Umgang mit der Pandemie veröffentlicht und kündigt nun mit dem fulminanten „Battle Cry“ auch gleich den Nachfolger für den 31.03.2022 an. Die inzwischen als Duo agierenden Musiker Tanja Schneider (Gesang) und Markus Spiethaler (Keyboard) führen ihre Vision von eingängigem Female Fronted Melodic Metal fort und holten sich für die Aufnahmen Unterstützung von Gitarrist Kim Wölfel, der bereits am Debüt mitwirkte, sowie Daniel Unzner (Dislocated Theory; Ex-Profanity), der mit hammermäßig schnellen Fingern den Bass einspielte. Die junge, ungezügelte Metal Gitarrenarbeit in Kombination mit dynamischem Schlagzeugspiel, einem spürbar druckvollen Bass und anmutigen Keyboard-Melodien, wird dabei vom lebendigen, leuchtenden Gesang der früheren Dawn Of Destiny Sängerin komplettiert. NEVARIA haben, ohne den eingeschlagenen Pfad zu verlassen, auf erfrischende Weise ihren eigenständigen Sound mit Elementen aus der elektronischen Musik weiterentwickelt und sowohl „Reckless“ als auch „Battle Cry“ wurden, wie auch zuvor das Album von André Hofmann (Nothgard, Wolfchant, New Hate Rising) gemischt und gemastert. Die Fokussierung auf nur noch zwei Songwriter sorgt für einen echten Schub in Sachen Kreativität und der Mix aus harten Gitarren und erfrischenden, elektronischen Vibes, über denen Tanja Schneiders imposante Stimme thront, überzeugt eindrucksvoll. Treibende Synthie-Arpeggios, die schon House bzw. Trance ähnliche Züge annehmen, werden hier mit Beats und natürlich harschen Gitarrenriffs gepaart, die für die nötige Härte sorgen. Die scharfzüngigen Lyrics der Single „Reckless“ wurden von Andy Pilkington von VeryMetalArt (Orden Ogan, Visionatica, Van Canto) mit einer bildgewaltigen Mischung aus Musik- und Lyric-Video gekonnt inszeniert, welches die gegenwärtige Brisanz des Themas aufeinander aufzupassen, Rücksicht zu nehmen und sich impfen zu lassen mehr als verdeutlicht. Auch für „Battle Cry“ setzten NEVARIA auf den englischen Videokünstler, der mit dem Lyric-Video das vielschichtige Thema hinter dem markanten Titel mit einer grandiosen audiovisuellen Meisterleistung produziert hat, die dem intensiv bombastischen Song auch die optische Durchschlagskraft beschert. „Battle Cry“ appelliert an die Menschlichkeit, sich den ständigen Anfeindungen aus verschiedenen Richtungen entgegenzustellen. Vor allem im Hinblick auf das aktuelle Geschehen eine wichtige Botschaft an die ganze Welt.

NEVARIA wurden 2018 von Sängerin Tanja Schneider und Keyboarder Markus Spiethaler gegründet und die beiden Musiker erlebten bereits unterschiedliche musikalische Werdegänge, bei denen sie erste Erfahrungen im Musikbusiness mit Europatouren und Support-Gigs mit Bands wie Xandria, Axxis, Sabaton bis hin zu diversen CD-Veröffentlichungen sammelten. Kurz darauf begann das Songwriting für das Debüt „Finally Free“ an, dessen Texte von Tod und Einsamkeit, Misshandlung, sozialem Miteinander, Krankheit, Liebe und Sehnsucht handeln, jeweils aus dem Blickwinkel des Betroffenen. Die Bedeutung der Texte soll ‘magisch’ sein und der Devise folgen, dass der Hörer sich selbst und seine eigene Geschichte darin wiederfinden kann. Gemäß diesem Credo komponierte die Band die elf Songs auf „Finally Free“ ebenso abwechslungsreich wie intensiv und nahmen in Markus Spiethalers Soundwerkstatt den passenden Sound auf. NEVARIA entführen den Hörer auf ihrem Album nicht nur optisch, dank des von Darkgrove Design (Battle Beast, Apocalyptica, Delain) stilvoll gestalteten Artworks, in kosmische Sphären, sondern begeistern auch mit der richtigen Mischung aus metallischer Härte und feinen Melodien, über denen die Stimme förmlich schwebt. Dies zeigen insbesondere die samt sehr erfolgreicher Musik- und Lyric-Videos veröffentlichten Singles „Life“, „Finally Free“ und „Drowning“, mit denen sie auf sich aufmerksam machten. In letzterem verarbeitet Tanja die Geschichte rund um das Gefühlschaos einer Freundin mit Borderline-Persönlichkeitsstörung und „Life“ zeigt die verschiedenen Facetten und Gesichter eines Menschen und seines vielschichtigen Lebens. In „Raise Your Fist“ stellen die Musiker sich den Herausforderungen des Lebens, denn jeder hat mit seinen eigenen Dämonen zu kämpfen. „No Mercy“ hingegen beschäftigt sich mit oberflächlichen, blendenden und verführerischen Aspekten, welche die Realität verzerren. Der Song „Wind“ bezieht sich auf den plötzlichen Verlust eines geliebten Menschen, der den Dialog zwischen dem Jenseits und unserer Welt aufzeigt. Das finale „Anyway“ handelt von der Sichtweise eines Kindes auf die Erziehung durch die Eltern im Konflikt mit dem eigenen ungebändigten Kindsein.

NEVARIA leben und lieben ihre Musik und reißen mit ihrer Spielfreude das Publikum live mit. Dies konnte man 2019 bei etlichen spannenden Shows erleben, bei denen die Bayreuther ihre Fans im In- und Ausland begeisterten, und umso erfreulicher ist es, dass NEVARIA nun mit vollem Tatendrang zurück sind.

Having also achieved considerable international success with its debut album “Finally Free” released via Dr. Music Records in 2019, the extraordinary Melodic Metal formation NEVARIA from the Bavarian city of Bayreuth stirred up the scene with acclaimed live shows. The band released its first new single “Reckless” at the beginning of February, full of critical tones on dealing with the pandemic, and now announces its successor with the brilliant “Battle Cry” for March 31, 2022. Now acting as a duo, the musicians Tanja Schneider (vocals) and Markus Spiethaler (keyboards) carry on their vision of catchy Female Fronted Melodic Metal and enlisted support for the recordings from guitarist Kim Wölfel, who already played on the debut, as well as Daniel Unzner (Dislocated Theory; Ex-Profanity), who recorded the bass with nimble fingers. The young, untamed Metal guitar work combined with dynamic drumming, a perceptibly powerful bass and graceful keyboard melodies is thereby completed by the vivid, brilliant vocals of the former Dawn Of Destiny vocalist. Without leaving the chosen path, NEVARIA refreshingly evolved their independent sound with elements from electronic music and both “Reckless” and “Battle Cry” were mixed and mastered by André Hofmann (Nothgard, Wolfchant, New Hate Rising), just like the album before. Focusing on just two songwriters provides a real boost in creativity and the mix of hard guitars and refreshing electronic vibes, enthroned by Tanja Schneider’s imposing voice, is impressively convincing. Driving synth arpeggios, which already take on house or trance-like features, are paired here with beats and natural harsh guitar riffs, which provide the necessary hardness. The sharp-tongued lyrics of the single “Reckless” were skillfully staged by Andy Pilkington of VeryMetalArt (Orden Ogan, Visionatica, Van Canto) with a visually stunning mix of music and lyric video, which more than illustrates the current explosive nature of the topic of taking care of each other, being considerate and getting vaccinated. NEVARIA also relied on the English video artist for “Battle Cry”, who produced the lyric video with the complex theme behind the striking title with a grandiose audiovisual masterpiece giving the intensely bombastic song its visual punch. “Battle Cry” appeals to humanity to oppose the constant hostility from different directions. Especially regarding the current events, an important message to the entire world.

Founded in 2018 by vocalist Tanja Schneider and keyboard player Markus Spiethaler, NEVARIA have already gone through different musical careers, gaining first experiences in the music business with European tours and support gigs with bands such as Xandria, Axxis, Sabaton up to various CD releases. Shortly after, the songwriting for the debut “Finally Free” began, whose lyrics deal with death and solitude, mistreatment, social cooperation, disease, love and desire, each from the affected person’s point of view. The meaning of the lyrics should be ‘magical’ and follow the motto that the listener can find himself and his own story in them. With this credo in mind, the band composed the eleven songs on “Finally Free” in a way that was as varied as it was intense and recorded the appropriate sound in Markus Spiethaler’s Soundwerkstatt. Thanks to the stylish artwork designed by Jan Yrlund from Darkgrove Design (Battle Beast, Apocalyptica, Delain), NEVARIA take the listener into cosmic spheres on their album, but also fascinate with the right mixture of Heavy Metal and fine melodies over which the voice literally floats. This is especially shown by the singles released along with very successful music and lyric videos “Life”, “Finally Free” and “Drowning”, with which they attracted attention. In the latter, Tanja processes the story about the emotional chaos of a friend with borderline personality disorder and “Life” shows the different aspects and faces of human beings and their multi-faceted lives. In “Raise Your Fist” the musicians face the challenges of life because everybody has to struggle with their own demons. “No Mercy”, on the other hand, deals with superficial, dazzling and seductive aspects that distort reality. The song “Wind” refers to the sudden loss of a loved one depicting the dialogue between the afterlife and our world. The final “Anyway” is about a child’s view of parenting in conflict with their own unrestrained childhood.

NEVARIA enjoy and love their music and enthrall the audience with their passion for playing live. This could be experienced in 2019 at quite a few exciting shows where they thrilled their fans at home and abroad and it is all the more gratifying that NEVARIA are now back and full of beans.
