Die norddeutsche Symphonic Metal Formation AETERNITAS präsentiert heute, am 04.11.2021, mit „Shadows“ die erste Single mit ihrer fantastischen, neuen Frontlady Miss ScarRed, auf der sie alle ihre stimmlichen Facetten zeigt. Dass die Band mit der Sängerin, die seit Juni das Line-up bereichert, einen echten Fang gemacht hat, beweist sie mit dem epischen, neuen über Dr. Music Records erscheinenden Song. Mit einem hymnenartigen Intro legt die Frontfrau mit ihrer charakteristischen feuerroten Mähne direkt im für AETERNITAS typischen Wechselgesang mit Alex Hunzinger los. Das Duo harmoniert dabei wunderbar und begeistert selbst mit düsteren Growls, die einen spannenden Kontrast zum großartigen cleanen Gesang bieten. Der Song wird von einem melodischen, zweistimmigen Gitarrenpart getragen und handelt von alten Legenden, die sich im Kern als wahr erweisen und wie Schatten über die Menschen kommen. Inspiriert von H.P. Lovecrafts Albträumen verleiht die neue Single den dunklen Bedrohungen eine musikalische Gestalt. Fans von mehrstimmigem Symphonic Metal á la Amaranthe, Therion oder Lacuna Coil sollten sich definitiv mit „Shadows“ auseinandersetzen. Aufgenommen und gemischt wurde der Song von AETERNITAS Mastermind Alex Hunzinger. Für die Gesangsaufnahmen war kein Geringerer als Producer Herbie Langhans zuständig, der sich als Mitglied von Bands wie Firewind, Avantasia oder Voodoo Circle einen Namen gemacht hat und auch einige zusätzliche Gesangsparts persönlich beisteuerte. Für das Mastering wurde Darius van Helfteren gewonnen, der u. a. für seine Arbeit mit Epica, Mayan oder Revamp bekannt ist und Kurt Wörsdorfer von Headcrime Artwork (Burden Of Grief, Leichenwetter, Eisenherz) ist für das mysteriös und beklemmend wirkende Single-Cover verantwortlich. Auch das brandneue Musikvideo von Regisseur Sven Voss lässt auf schweißtreibende, energiegeladene und mitreißende Live-Shows in der Post-Pandemie Zeit hoffen. Gedreht in einem alten Bunker, in dem die Dunkelheit und Schatten der Vergangenheit immer noch präsent sind, entstand eine düstere Atmosphäre, die perfekt zur Thematik der Single passt. AETERNITAS wurden 1999 von Anja und Alex Hunzinger gegründet und das Paar veröffentlichte ein Jahr später ihr erstes Konzeptalbum „Requiem“, das sich durch die Vielzahl eingesetzter stilistischer Elemente auszeichnet. Die positive Resonanz veranlasste die beiden Musiker dazu, aus dem ursprünglichen Projekt eine Band zu formen, die auch live etwas Außergewöhnliches zu bieten hat. Auf dem 2004 veröffentlichten Album „La Danse Macabre“ verbanden AETERNITAS schließlich zeitgemäßen Gothic Metal mit klassischen und elektronischen Inspirationen. Auch das Bühnenkonzept wurde weiter verfeinert, sodass die Zuschauer eine dramatisch, theatralische Live-Performance genießen konnten, die den Sound der Lübecker auch visuell umsetzte. Eine neue Ära begann im Jahr 2012, als sie anfingen, am Konzeptalbum „House of Usher“ zu arbeiten. In den Songs entwickelte die Band einen modernen Symphonic Metal mit bombastischen Orchesterarrangements, groovenden Rock Elementen und einem starken, eingängigen Gesang. 2017 spielten AETERNITAS als Vorgruppe der Scorpions in der Hessentagsarena Rüsselsheim und in den vergangenen Jahren tourten sie zusammen mit der japanischen Power Metal Band Jupiter und den finnischen ESC Hard Rock Heroen Lordi. Ende 2020 erschien „Haunted Minds“, ihr sechstes und bislang stärkstes Album, auf dem mit Henning Basse (Metalium, Ex-Firewind) und Glen Drover (Ex-Megadeth, Ex-King Diamond) zwei bekannte Gäste zu hören sind.

The German Symphonic Metal formation AETERNITAS presents today, on 11/04/2021, “Shadows”, the first single with their fantastic new front lady Miss ScarRed, where she showcases all her vocal facets. The band proves with the epic new song released via Dr. Music Records that they have made a real catch with the female vocalist, who since June invigorates the line-up. With an anthemic intro, the frontwoman, with her characterizing fiery red mane, sets off directly in the typical AETERNITAS alternating vocals with Alex Hunzinger. The duo harmonizes wonderfully and inspires even with dark growls, which offer an intriguing contrast to the great clean vocals. The song is carried by a melodic, twophonic guitar part and deals with ancient legends that turn out to be genuine at the core and come over people like shadows. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s nightmares, the new single gives musical shape to the dark threats. Fans of polyphonic Symphonic Metal á la Amaranthe, Therion or Lacuna Coil should definitely check out “Shadows”. The song was recorded and mixed by AETERNITAS mastermind Alex Hunzinger. The vocal recordings made by no less than producer Herbie Langhans, who has made a name for himself as a member of bands like Firewind, Avantasia or Voodoo Circle and also personally contributed some additional vocal parts. The positive response prompted the two musicians to turn the original project into a band offering also live something extraordinary. On the album “La Danse Macabre”, released in 2004, AETERNITAS finally combined contemporary Gothic Metal with classical and electronic inspirations. The stage concept was also refined further so that the audience could enjoy a dramatic, theatrical live performance that also visually translated the sound of the German band. A new era began in 2012 when they started working on the concept album “House of Usher”. In the songs, the band devised a modern Symphonic Metal with bombastic orchestral arrangements, grooving Rock elements and powerful, catchy vocals. In 2017, AETERNITAS supported the Scorpions at the Hessentagsarena in Rüsselsheim and in the past years, they toured with the Japanese Power Metal band Jupiter and the Finnish ESC Hard Rock heroes Lordi. In late 2020, they released “Haunted Minds”, their sixth and most empowering album to date, featuring Henning Basse (Metalium, ex-Firewind) and Glen Drover (ex-Megadeth, ex-King Diamond) as two well-known guests.
