CHILD OF CAESAR entfesseln heute ihr neues facettenreiches sinistres Gothic Metal Album „Spirit & Liberation“

Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer melancholisch-doomigen Gothic Metal Version von Scott Mackenzies Hippie Kultsong „San Francisco“, die im desillusionierenden Lyric-Video deutlich macht, dass der Geist der Hippie-Ära mit Träumen von Frieden, Gewaltlosigkeit, Ehrenhaftigkeit und grenzenlosen Spaß inzwischen doch arg verwelkt ist, erscheint heute, am 26.08.2022 das zweite CHILD OF CAESAR Album „Spirit & Liberation“ über Dr. Music Records. Mastermind und Gitarrist André Marcussen ist mit seinem Projekt aus dem Schatten der Vergangenheit herausgetreten und hat mit dem aktuellen Line-up den sinistren Nachfolger des 2015er-Albums „Love In Black“ aufgenommen. Bereits im Vorjahr erschien als Vorbote das leider prophetische Anti-Kriegs Lyric-Video zu „Your Eyes On Me“, das mit martialischen Bildsequenzen schockiert. Im Frühjahr folgte die erste offizielle Single „Seven“, mit der die Band weitere Einblicke in das neue vielschichtige Album gewährte, und zugleich veröffentlichte sie einen bildgewaltig animierten Clip, der die Lyrics in einem trübsinnig technokratischen Moloch illustriert, der Freiheit und Menschlichkeit unterdrückt. Anschließend schalteten CHILD OF CAESAR in Sachen Härte und wilder Angriffslust aufs Gaspedal und zelebrierten die letzten Sekunden vor dem „Exitus“ in morbider Wut mit einer schweißtreibenden Live-Performance im Musikvideo. Die Aufnahme und der Mix des Albums erfolgten im Tones & Tunes Studio von Gitarrist Christopher F. Kassad und für das Mastering vertrauten die Musiker erneut auf Mika Jussila vom Finnvox Studio (Amorphis, Solstafir, Nightwish). Die Songs sind ein gleichermaßen finsterer Ohrenschmaus für Gothic Fans und Metalheads, die bei Tiamat die Wildheit der frühen Werke vermissen, dabei Satyricon schätzen und sich den punkigen Bad Religion Vibes nicht verwehren.

2011 versammelte André Marcussen eine illustre Riege von Musikern aus dem Metal Underground um sich, darunter Autumn Eyes Sänger Daniel Mitchell, um seine Vision von Metal jenseits des Mainstreams zu verwirklichen. Vier Jahre später machten CHILD OF CAESAR auf ihrem Debüt „Love In Black“ erstmals mit düsterem, avantgardistischem Gothic Metal auf sich aufmerksam. „Spirit & Liberation“ zeigt hingegen eine vielschichtigere Band, die mit ihrem schonungslos wilden Dark Metal Kaleidoskop für Furore sorgen wird. Neu am Mikro ist Patrick Pagliaro, der sich genau wie Bassist Tobias Habel mit den Bands Slomind und Bunghole einen Namen gemacht hat. Weiter mit dabei ist Gitarrist Christopher F. Kassad (Ex-Jesus On Extasy, Aeranea) und Felix Haun (Karabooza) sorgt für ordentlich Druck an den Kesseln. CHILD OF CAESAR haben ein vielschichtiges Meisterwerk sinistrer Gothic Metal Tonkunst mit tief-schürfenden Lyrics über sensible Gedanken zum Leben und Tod geschaffen, dessen Artwork von dem herausragenden Künstler Eliran Kantor gemalt wurde, der mit beeindruckenden Cover-Ölgemälden für Bands wie Kreator, Tristania oder My Dying Bride für Furore sorgte. Stark von den 90ern beeinflusster Gothic Metal gepaart mit schwermütiger Melancholie und Zerrissenheit bildet die Basis. CHILD OF CAESAR unleash their new multi-faceted sinister Gothic Metal album “Spirit & Liberation” today

Shortly after the release of their melancholic-doomy Gothic Metal version of Scott Mackenzie’s hippie cult song “San Francisco”, which makes clear in the disillusioning lyric video that the spirit of the hippie era with dreams of peace, non-violence, honorableness and endless fun has poorly withered in the meantime, the second CHILD OF CAESAR album “Spirit & Liberation” is released today, on August 26, 2022, via Dr. Music Records. Mastermind and guitarist André Marcussen has stepped out of the shadows of the past with his project and recorded the sinister follow-up to 2015’s album “Love In Black” with the current line-up. As a harbinger, the unfortunately prophetic anti-war lyric video for “Your Eyes On Me”, was released last year, shocking with martial image sequences. In spring the first official single “Seven” followed with which the band gave further insights into the new multi-faceted album and at the same time they released a visually stunning animated music video, illustrating the lyrics in a doleful technocratic juggernaut that suppresses freedom and humanity. Afterward, CHILD OF CAESAR put the pedal to the metal in terms of hardness and wild aggressiveness, celebrating the last seconds before the “Exitus” in morbid rage with a sweaty live performance in the music video. The recording and mixing of the album were done at guitarist Christopher F. Kassad’s Tones & Tunes Studio, and for the mastering, the musicians once again entrusted Mika Jussila of Finnvox Studio (Amorphis, Solstafir, Nightwish). The songs are an equally sinister feast for the ears of Goth fans and metalheads who miss the ferocity of Tiamat’s early records while appreciating Satyricon and not denying themselves the punky Bad Religion vibes.
