DUST & BONES: StraightShitDoomyRock mit Kick-Ass-Attitüde

Schnörkelloser, auf das Wesentliche reduzierter, harter punkiger Rock, basierend auf Hardrock-Grooves mit in den Keller gestimmten, fiesen Gitarren und einer Menge Spaß in den staubigen Knochen. Diese Gitarrenklänge, eine markante Stimme und ordentlich Power finden sich auch auf dem am 13. Juni 2014 über Dr. Music Records erscheinendem Album „RockItDeEP“ wieder zusammen und das in gewohnt ruppiger DUST & BONES Manier. Die Etikette wird zur Nebensache und die Jungs machen sich musikalisch mal so richtig Luft.

DUST & BONES sind seit ihrer ersten Demo-Platte, die sie im Jahr 2000 veröffentlichen und ihnen direkt viele positive Resonanzen einbrachte eine bekannte Truppe im deutschen Rock-Underground. Nach einigen Live-Gigs u.a. mit Postmortem, Cockroach, Karkadan und DownEightOne folgte 2004 der Deal mit dem Bochumer Label Metal Axe Records. Dort erschien das DUST & BONES Debüt-Album „Liberator“ im Juli 2005. Es folgten weitere Gigs, u.a. als Tour-Support für Onkel Tom Angelripper im April 2006. Über FireField Records haben sie dann 2010 ihr bisher letztes Album „666 Neurotic Bombs“ erfolgreich veröffentlicht und ernteten erneut gute Pressestimmen. Bereits Anfang 2012 statteten die Jungs Marc Ayerle einen Besuch in seinem Studio in Ludwigsburg ab, um neues Material aufzunehmen. Mit diesem haben sich DUST & BONES einen Produzenten schnappen können, der sich vor allem als Live-Mischer von End Of Green einen hervorragenden Ruf in der Musikszene erarbeitet hat. Diese Reputation spiegelt sich auch in der transparenten und druckvollen Produktion der neuen Songs auf „RockItDeEP“ wider. DUST & BONES sind definitiv einen Schritt weiter in ihrer Entwicklung und halten ein heißes Eisen für alle Heavy Rock Maniacs in ihren Händen!

„Fight The Black Dog“ als Auftakt des neuen Werkes zu bestimmen, war sicher kein Zufall, sondern eindeutig strategisches Geschick: prägnante Gitarrenklänge und energischer Gesang mit Ohrwurm-Gefahr, stellen die gebührende Begrüßung zu Allem was da noch kommt dar. Mit deutlichen Worten geht es auch im darauffolgenden Song „Alright (On The Very Wrong Side)“ weiter, in dem DUST & BONES Spaßbremsen, die mit missionarischem Eifer ihre Zeit stehlen wollen, auffordern gepflegt zur Hölle zu fahren. In „Say Hello (To A Bunch Of Idiots)“ liefern sie pädagogisch wertvolle Verhaltenstipps für den Umgang mit Härtefällen: «Take it or hate it don‘t give a damn» Beim vorletzten Titel der frischen EP werden zwar eindeutig ruhigere Töne angeschlagen, jedoch klingt „Unseen“ auf keinen Fall weniger patzig, sondern versprüht förmlich den augenzwinkernde Charme der vier Musiker um Bassist und Sänger Thorsten und seinen tatkräftigen Mitstreitern Jarle am Schlagzeug sowie Bernd und Dirk an den staubigen Gitarren.

Überzeugen kann man sich davon auch audiovisuell, denn zu „Unseen“ haben DUST & BONES erstmals ein selbstironisches Musikvideo gedreht, das den Unterhaltungswert der Band endlich auch abseits ihrer großartigen Live-Konzerte nach außen transportiert. Der Videoclip wurde vom Film-Team um Liviana Jansen und Fabian Janssen gekonnt in Szene gesetzt und wird mit ziemlicher Sicherheit für Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. DUST & BONES bleiben mit ihrer neuen Platte ihrem ganz eigenen Stil und der rotzigen Attitude treu! 2014 kann kommen … Let‘s RockItDeEP!

DUST & BONES: StraightShitDoomyRock with kick-ass-attitude

Straightforward, reduced to the essential, hard punky Rock, based on Hard Rock grooves with nasty guitars tuned into the basement and a whole lot of fun in the dusty bones. These guitar sounds, a striking voice and plenty of power are melded on the new album “RockItDeEP“, which will be released on June 13, 2014 through Dr. Music Records and all this in the well known rough DUST & BONES manner. The etiquette becomes a minor matter and the guys give musical vent to their feelings.

DUST & BONES are a well-known squad in the German Rock underground since they published their first demo in 2000 which provided them a lot of positive feedback. After a few live gigs with bands such as Postmortem, Cockroach, Karkadan and DownEightOne, a deal with the German label Metal Axe Records followed in 2004. There the DUST & BONES debut album “Liberator“ was released in July 2005. More gigs followed, among others as tour support for Onkel Tom Angelripper in April 2006. Via Firefield Records they successfully released their last album “666 Neurotic Bombs“ in 2010 and earned good press reviews again. Already at the beginning of 2012 the guys visited Marc Ayerle at his studio in Ludwigsburg to start recording new material. With him DUST & BONES were able to grab a producer who received an excellent reputation in the music scene primarily for his work as live mixer for End Of Green. And exactly this reputation reflects in the transparent and powerful production of the new songs on “RockItDeEP“. DUST & BONES have definitely gone one step further in their development and they have an ace up their sleeve for all Heavy Rock maniacs.

To determine “Fight The Black Dog“ as the kick-off for the new creation is certainly no coincidence but strategic talent: concise guitar sounds and energetic, catchy vocals constitute the proper salutation for everything that may come. In the following song “Alright On The Very Right Side“ DUST & BONES carry on with very clear words where they ask party poopers, which want to steal their time with missionary zeal, to go to hell. In “Say Hello (To A Bunch Of Idiots)“ they provide useful pedagogical tips for dealing with hardship cases: «Take it or hate it don‘t give a damn». Although they provide clearly calmer tones in the penultimate title on the fresh EP, “Unseen“ in no case is less snotty but exudes positively the winking charm of the four musicians around bassist and vocalist Thorsten and his energetic combatants Jarle on the drums as well as Bernd and Dirk on the dusty guitars.

You can convince yourself audiovisually now as well, because DUST & BONES for the first time shot a self-ironic music video for “Unseen“, that finally transmits the entertainment value of this band aside their great live shows. The videoclip has been ably staged by the film team around Liviana Jansen and Fabian Janssen and it will almost certainly attract attention. With the new record, DUST & BONES remain true to their very own style and their snotty attitude. 2014 may come… Let‘s RockItDeEP!
