REDNEX bitten mit ihrer neuen Party-Single „Glad Rags Jug“ zum Tanz

»REDNEX a-comin’!« So lautet der Schlachtruf der brandneuen, abgefahrenen Single „Glad Rags Jug“ von den berühmt-berüchtigten Country Dance Pop Party Hinterwäldlern REDNEX, die am 28.10.2022 über Muunshine Muusic erscheint. Ihre Welthits „Cotton Eye Joe“, „Wish You Were Here“ und „Spirit Of The Hawk“ wurden rund um den Globus gefeiert und sind heute Evergreens, die Pflicht auf jeder guten Party sind. Mit „Glad Rags Jug“ ermuntert die Band lauthals ihre Fans, sich ein schräges Outfit anzulegen und ausgelassen mitzufeiern. Der Begriff ‘Glad Rags’ bezieht sich hierbei auf verrückte Party-Klamotten und das Wort ‘Jug’ bezieht sich auf eine Jug-Band, die einem alten traditionellen Musikstil folgt und untypische Instrumente wie Krüge, Einmachgläser, Dosen, Löffel usw. verwendet. Außerdem verwenden die Musiker den Klang eines Waschbretts, einem klassischen Jug-Band-Instrument, zusammen mit dem Trommeln auf einem alten Lederkoffer, der als Bass Drum und Snare fungiert. Natürlich dürfen bei dieser abgefahrenen Sause auch Geige und Banjo, die typischen REDNEX Trademarks, nicht fehlen. Der von Ilkka Valtee in Finnland produzierte Song ist eine Adaption des fast 200 Jahre alten amerikanischen Folksongs „Turkey In The Straw“, der seit Generationen an amerikanischen Lagerfeuern gesungen wird. Dank der ungemein positiven Energie und der ausgelassenen Party-Stimmung, die bestens zum Stil der Combo passt, wurde dieser Song als Single ausgewählt. Das äußerst unterhaltsame Musikvideo, das die beiden Regisseure Michal Holecko und Kun Sándor in der stilechten Kulisse eines Hinterhofs eines ungarischen Dorfes filmten, zeigt den ‘Brunkeflo Dress Contest’. Dieser außergewöhnliche Kostümwettbewerb und der Glad Rags-Tanz sind natürlich beide eine perfekte Steilvorlage für eine zünftige Challenge. REDNEX fordern dieser Tage dazu auf, eigene Videos von sich tanzend in schrillen Outfits zu produzieren und mit den Hashtags #GladRagsDance #GladRagsDress #GladRagsJug #GladRags #GladRagsParty auf TikTok, Instagram oder via YouTube Shorts zu verbreiten.

REDNEX feierten gleich mit ihrer Debüt-Single „Cotton Eye Joe“ 1994 ihren ersten Welthit, der bis heute die Dancefloors füllt und von Radiosendern auf der ganzen Welt gespielt wird. Bei Letzterem kommt die ursprünglich in Schweden beheimatete Truppe inzwischen auf sagenhafte 300 Millionen Aufrufe. REDNEX unterscheiden sich stark von anderen Bands, vor allem weil es eher ein Projekt, ein Konzept, ein Spirit, eine Einstellung ist. »REDNEX a-comin’!« That’s the battle cry of the brand new, whacky single “Glad Rags Jug” from the notorious Country Dance Pop party hillbillies REDNEX, to be released on 10/28/2022 via Muunshine Muusic. Their world hits “Cotton Eye Joe”, “Wish You Were Here” and “Spirit Of The Hawk” were celebrated around the globe and are now evergreens that are a must at every good party. With “Glad Rags Jug”, the band loudly encourages their fans to wear crazy outfits and join in the revelry. Here, the term ‘Glad Rags’ refers to crazy party clothes, and the word ‘Jug’ refers to a jug band following an old traditional musical style by using non-typical instruments such as jugs, jars, cans, spoons and so on. Moreover, the musicians use the sound from a washing board, a classical jug band instrument, along with the beating on an old leather trunk acting as bass drum and snare. Of course, fiddle and banjo, the typical REDNEX trademarks, are also a part of this wild bash. The song, produced by Ilkka Valtee in Finland, is an adaptation of the nearly 200-year-old American folk song “Turkey In The Straw,” sung around American campfires for generations. Thanks to the immensely positive energy and exuberant party mood perfectly fitting the combo’s style, this song was chosen as a single.
