CROWORD veröffentlichen Melodic Death Metal EP „Crimson Gaze” mit Live-Session als Bonus

CROWORD ist eine aufstrebende österreichische Metal Band um Mastermind und Bassist Lukas Rappitsch, die mit ihrer neuen 4-Track-EP „Crimson Gaze“ eine großartige und wuchtige Melodic Death Metal Symphonie erschallen lässt. Das neue Werk erscheint am 03.09.2021 über NRT-Records und beinhaltet als Bonusmaterial zusätzlich die Live-Session „Live Is More Than Just Breathing“. Dieses Konzert umfasst elf Songs ihrer beiden bisherigen Veröffentlichungen, die perfekt den intensiven Sound der Band widerspiegeln, welcher stark von der Göteborger Death Metal Szene der 1990er Jahre inspiriert wurde und dabei mit Einflüssen aus Rock, Jazz und klassischer Musik zu einer einzigartigen Mischung verschmilzt. Aufgenommen wurde der Vorbote für das 2022 geplante zweite Album im österreichischen Kochplatte Studio und den Elophos Hill Studios. Für den Mix der EP ist Andreas Koch zuständig und für das Mastering konnte kein Geringerer als Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios) gewonnen werden, der schon mit Opeth, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy uvm. arbeitete. Die Songs sind inhaltlich von Malern wie Egon Schiele und Arnold Böcklin inspiriert, die sich vor gut 100 Jahren mit den Abgründen und Höhen der menschlichen Natur auseinandersetzen. Fans von musikalisch wie lyrisch anspruchsvollem Melodic Death Metal sollten definitiv mehr als ein Ohr riskieren!

2012 in der Steiermark gegründet, stellte sich CROWORD 2016 mit ihrer Demo-EP „Manifest Of Mortal Sickness“ und dem Lyric-Video zum Titelsong, das in der internationalen Metal Szene mit großem Respekt anerkannt wurde, erstmals ins Rampenlicht der Öffentlichkeit. Rund ein Jahr später veröffentlichten CROWORD ihr erstes Album „The Great Beyond“, welches eine Band präsentierte, die im Vergleich zu ihrem Debüt noch mehr Authentizität, technische Finesse, Kraft und Tiefe bewies. Mit ihrer neuen EP und der dazu erscheinenden Live-Session werden die Österreicher der Welt erneut zeigen, wie sich guter Melodic Death Metal anhört. Der talentierte wie charismatische Bassist und Bandleader Lukas Rappitsch sowie der erfahrene Schlagzeuger Johannes Eder geben mit ihrer Bass- und Drumline einen komplexen sowie einprägsamen Rhythmus vor, welcher den rauen Gesang von CROWORDs neuen Shouter Adrian Schattovits ansprechend untermalt. Mit ihren einzigartigen Soli, meisterhaft umgesetzt von ihrem Gitarristen-Duo Julian Schattovits und Dino Sulic, setzt die junge Band weitere Statements. Getragen von melodischen und präzise gesetzten Gitarren beschreibt der Opener und Titelsong „Crimson Gaze“, der als erste Single erscheint, mit harschen Vocals wie Angst und Hass der blanken Brutalität weichen und die Grenze zur Vernunft einreißt. Die nächsten beiden Tracks „Isle Of The Dead“ und „Death And The Maiden“ sind sowohl poetisch als auch inhaltlich und klanglich kontrastreich und präsentieren eine Sinfonie über vergehende Unschuld, Liebe und einen Tod, der immer findet, wen er sucht. Der krönende Abschluss der 4-Track EP und zugleich die zweite Single ist ein Statement für die Freiheit der Kunst und Kreativität, wundervoll dargestellt im gesellschaftskritischen „Secession (Where All The Reasons Are Lost)“, wo harte Riffs auf ruhige Akustik stoßen. Das von Irrwisch Artdesign (Mudhoney, Sólstafir, Dool) gestaltete Cover-Artwork, gibt dem Ganzen mitsamt rot glühender Augen, die sich in die Tiefe der Seele hineinbohren den passenden Anstrich. An der zusätzlichen Live-Session „Live Is More Than Just Breathing“, die ausschließlich über einen Link im Booklet der CD erreicht werden kann, wird die Fangemeinde von CROWORD ihre besondere Freude haben. Neben den Live-Versionen der vier neuen Songs enthält es auch Best-of Tracks der letzten Jahre, dargeboten mit roher Emotion und einer Menge schweißtreibender Leidenschaft in den Räumlichkeiten der österreichischen Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien.

Die Songs von CROWORD überzeugen durch vielfältige Kompositionen, eine kräftige Portion Härte und klaren Melodien, welche in ihren Fundamenten den Klang von großen Bands wie In Flames, At The Gates oder Dark Tranquillity in sich tragen. CROWORD release Melodic Death Metal EP “Crimson Gaze” with live session as bonus

CROWORD is an emerging Austrian Metal band around mastermind and bass player Lukas Rappitsch which lets resound a great and massive Melodic Death Metal symphony with their new 4 track EP “Crimson Gaze”. The new opus will be released on September 3, 2021, via NRT Records and additionally contains the live session “Live Is More Than Just Breathing” as bonus material. This concert features eleven songs from their two previous releases, perfectly reflecting the band’s intense sound, which was strongly inspired by the Gothenburg Death Metal scene of the 1990s, merging with influences from Rock, Jazz and Classical music to create a unique blend. The harbinger of the second album planned for 2022 has been recorded at the Austrian Kochplatte Studio and Elophos Hill Studios. Andreas Koch has been responsible for the mix of the EP and none other than Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios), who already worked with Opeth, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy and many others, has been won over for the mastering. The songs are inspired by painters such as Egon Schiele and Arnold Böcklin, who dealt with the abysses and peaks of human nature about 100 years ago. Fans of musically and lyrically sophisticated Melodic Death Metal should definitely risk more than a listen!

Founded in 2012 in Styria, CROWORD put themselves in the public spotlight for the first time in 2016 with their demo EP “Manifest Of Mortal Sickness” and the lyric video for the title track, which was recognized with great appreciation in the international Metal scene. About a year later, CROWORD released their first album “The Great Beyond”, which presented a band that proved even more authenticity, technical finesse, power and depth compared to their debut. With their new EP and the accompanying live session, the Austrians will once again show the world what good Melodic Death Metal sounds like. The talented and charismatic bass player and bandleader Lukas Rappitsch, as well as the experienced drummer Johannes Eder, set a complex and catchy rhythm with their bass and drum line, which underscores the rough vocals of CROWORD’s new shouter Adrian Schattovits appealingly. With their unique solos, masterfully performed by their guitarist duo Julian Schattovits and Dino Sulic, the young band makes powerful statements. Backed by melodic and precisely placed guitars, the opener and title track “Crimson Gaze”, which will be released as the first single, describes with harsh vocals how fear and hatred give way to sheer brutality and the border of sanity tears. The following two tracks “Isle Of The Dead” and “Death And The Maiden” are poetic as well as contrasting in content and sound, presenting a symphony of passing innocence, love and a death that always finds who it is looking for. The grand finale of the 4 track EP and at the same time the second single is a statement for the freedom of art and creativity, wonderfully depicted in the sociocritical track “Secession (Where All The Reasons Are Lost)”, where heavy riffs meet quiet acoustics. The cover artwork, designed by Irrwisch Artdesign (Mudhoney, Sólstafir, Dool), gives the whole thing a fitting touch, along with red glowing eyes drilling into the depths of the soul. The additional live session “Live Is More Than Just Breathing”, which can be accessed exclusively via a link in the CD booklet, will be a special treat for CROWORD’s fan community. Besides the live versions of the four new songs, it also comes with the last years’ best-of tracks, performed with raw emotion and a lot of sweaty passion in the premises of the Austrian University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

The songs of CROWORD convince with diverse compositions, a proper portion of heaviness and clear melodies, which in their foundations carry the sound of great bands such as In Flames, At The Gates or Dark Tranquillity. With “Crimson Gaze” the band moves one step closer to the center of the European Melodic Death Metal scene.
