GLOBAL SCUM: Die Groove Metal Armee marschiert mit „Odium“ gegen die Missstände der Welt

GLOBAL SCUM wendet sich mit dem zweiten Album erneut gegen alle Übel der modernen Welt. Mastermind Manuel Harlander hält der Welt und ihren Missständen den Spiegel vor und macht auch vor menschlichen Monstern wie Josef Fritzl nicht halt, der seine eigene Tochter 24 Jahre im Keller gefangen hielt. Ebenso richtet sich das brutale und beinharte Groove Metal Meisterwerk „Odium“ gegen die Geißel der Korruption. Die insgesamt 13 Songs sind die logische Fortsetzung des 2017er Debüts „Hell Is Home“, das international von der Metal Szene sehr gut aufgenommen wurde. Einstimmen kann man sich mit dem von YOD Multimedia (Kingbéast, Stonecast, Dischord) produzierten Lyric-Video zum Song „Feared“, das bereits bei YouTube für Aufruhr sorgt. Wer mit Bands wie Soulfly, Sepultura, Ektomorf oder Slipknot etwas anfangen kann ist definitiv an der richtigen Adresse und sollte sich „Odium“ zügig zulegen, wenn es am 19.07.2019 über NRT-Records in die Plattenläden kommt.

Der österreichische Musiker und Sänger Manuel Harlander sammelte schon früh in verschiedenen Projekten als Gitarrist und Frontmann Erfahrungen. Diese gipfelten schlussendlich in dem Wunsch seiner Kreativität völligen Freiraum zu lassen und der Erschaffung seines Solo-Projektes GLOBAL SCUM. Harlander growlt was das Zeug hält, spielt alle Instrumente selbst und ist gleichzeitig auch für Recording und Mix verantwortlich. Lediglich beim Mastering gewährte er Christian Schmid (Suicidal Angels, Mystic Prophecy, FireForce) vom Music Factory Studio mit seiner professionellen Erfahrung Zugang zum Produktionsprozess von „Odium“. Er unterwirft sich nicht dem Zeitgeist und lehnt strikt das Medium Social Media ab. Bei GLOBAL SCUM gibt es keine Kompromisse, hier wird mit der Faust auf die Missstände der Welt gehauen und mit sozialkritischen Texten der Finger in die entzündete Wunde gelegt. Für das eindringliche, martialische „Odium“ Artwork mit der blutbeschmierten Frau samt Gasmaske vor den ausgebombten Ruinen zeichnet sich die Agentur Moon Ring Design verantwortlich, die bereits Alben von Bands wie Master, Incubus oder Martyrium ins rechte Licht gerückt hat. Songs wie das sich gegen Korruption wendende „Feared“ oder „Disgusting Lust Of Madness“, das sich wiederum mit kranken und perversen Geistern der Neuzeit auseinandersetzt, zu denen eben auch der schon genannte Josef Fritzl zählt, spiegeln die Intensität des Albums und den Zorn des Musikers aus dem Zillertal wider. „Fake As Fuck“ wiederum zeigt der Fake-Reality mit seinen Protagonisten den Stinkefinger. Mit „Violent Creation“ legt sich GLOBAL SCUM mit dem parasitären weltweiten Terrorismus an. „Assassins“, das am 14. Juni als Single vorab samt Lyricvideo veröffentlicht wird, setzt diese Thematik fort und verteufelt die Existenz sowie die Sinnlosigkeit von Selbstmordattentätern. Dass sein Sound auch mit deutschen Texten gut funktioniert, beweist das thrashig wütende „Martyrium“. Manuel Harlander spuckt auf „Odium“ förmlich seine Wut über den Zustand der Gegenwart raus. Lediglich beim Instrumental „Savage Killer“ wird dem Hörer eine kurze Verschnaufpause gewährt, bevor mit „Mental Anxiety“ zum Abschluss noch mal das musikalische und verbale Faustrecht regiert.

Das neue GLOBAL SCUM Album bietet mit seinen harten Groove Metal Songs den passenden Soundtrack der alltäglichen medialen und gesellschaftlichen Apokalypse. „Odium“ wird dem Einmann-Projekt diesen Sommer einige neue Fans bescheren.

Mastermind Manuel Harlander holds up the mirror to the world and its grievances and doesn’t spare human monsters like Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter imprisoned in his own cellar for 24 years. Likewise, the brutal and tough Groove Metal masterpiece “Odium” is directed against the scourge of corruption. The 13 songs are the logical continuation of the debut “Hell Is Home” from 2017, which was very well received by the international Metal scene. You can get in the mood with the lyric video produced by YOD Multimedia (Kingbéast, Stonecast, Dischord) for the song “Feared” which is already causing a stir on YouTube. He does not submit to the Zeitgeist and strictly rejects the medium social media. With GLOBAL SCUM there are no compromises, the foot is put down on the grievances of the world and the knife is turning in the sore wound with socially critical lyrics. Moon Ring Design is responsible for the forceful, martial “Odium” artwork with the bloodstained woman wearing a gas mask in front of bombed ruins. The agency has already put albums of bands such as Master, Incubus or Martyrium in the right perspective. Songs like “Feared”, which turns against corruption, or “Disgusting Lust Of Madness”, which deals with sick and perverted minds of the modern age, including the above-mentioned Josef Fritzl, reflect the intensity of the album and the anger of the musician. “Fake As Fuck”, in turn, shows the fake reality and its protagonists the middle finger. With “Violent Creation”, GLOBAL SCUM is tackling the parasitic global terrorism. “Assassins”, which will be released on the 14th of June as a single along with a lyric video in advance, continues with this theme and demonizes the existence and futility of suicide assassins. That his sound also works well with German lyrics is proven by the thrashy angry song “Martyrium”. On “Odium” Manuel Harlander literally spits out his anger about the contemporary state. Only the instrumental “Savage Killer” gives the listener a short breather before “Mental Anxiety” concludes with another musical and verbal fist law.

The new GLOBAL SCUM album offers with its hard Groove Metal songs the fitting soundtrack to the daily media and social apocalypse. “Odium” will bring some new fans for the one-man project this summer.
