Das Duo POWDER FOR PIGEONS aus Perth, Australien hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren mit Tourneen als Headliner wie auch im Vorprogramm von Szenelegenden oder als Gast bei den angesagtesten Festivals der Stoner und Alternative Rock Gemeinde einen Namen gemacht. Am 01.03.2019 erscheint nun ihr drittes Album „Over & Out“ als ‘Marbled Mud‘ Vinyl und digital mit sieben kraftstrotzenden Songs pünktlich zum Start der gleichnamigen Europatour.

Das Schicksal hatte vor gut sechs Jahren den ganz besonderen Einfall zwei Musiker von den gegenüberliegenden Enden der Welt zusammen zu führen. Seitdem bilden der australische Sänger und Gitarrist Rhys und die deutsche Schlagzeugerin Meike Jones, die in Las Vegas heirateten, ein einzigartiges Tandem, das den Wunsch entstehen ließ einen gemeinsamen ‘Wall of sound and filth‘ zu erschaffen. Getreu der Natur der Sache entstanden POWDER FOR PIGEONS. Inspiriert von der rauen Umgebung des heißen und staubigen Outbacks von Westaustralien, hat das Power-Duo einen gigantischen Sound geschaffen, der das Frequenzspektrum mit druckvollen, warmen, tiefen, schmutzigen Gitarrenriffs und pochendem Schlagzeug füllt, der meilenweit zu hören ist. Mit einer stichhaltigen Dosis kraftvollem melodischen Gesang und einem reizvoll strukturierten Songwriting erinnert ihr Ansatz oft an Alternative Rock Ikonen der 90er Jahre wie Helmet, Queens Of The Stone Age, Monster Magnet oder Faith No More. Sie waren bereits mit Monster Magnet auf Tour und haben sich Bühnen mit Bands wie Soulfly, Sepultura, Melvins, Clutch oder Fu Manchu geteilt. Ihren Weg setzen sie jetzt auch mit dem brandneuen Album „Over & Out“ fort. Songs wie der eindringliche und kraftvolle Opener „Catapult“, der auch als Musikvideo erscheinen wird, sowie die spannenden Remixe ihrer Songs „Personality“ und „Lay It On“ werden genauso dafür sorgen, dass sich ihre Legende weiter fort entwickelt! Mit „Shitstorm City“ hat das Paar aus Down Under auch eine tanzbare Stoner Rock meets Grunge Vibes Nummer am Start, die sicher zu richtig Bewegung samt Pogo auf zahlreichen Alternative Dancefloors führen wird. Darauf folgt „Expectation“ mit einem fettem Heavy Gitarren Sound mit ordentlich Punch aus den Kesseln über den Rhys mit seiner hypnotischen Stimme genau die richtigen Töne trifft. „Better Days“ wiederum verbindet gekonnt Americana Vibes mit harten Alternative Rock Einsprengseln. Final weckt „Over And Out“ die Sehnsucht nach mehr und vor allem dem Besuch einer ihrer kommenden schweißtreibenden Live-Shows!

Einen Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album haben POWDER FOR PIGEONS bereits mit dem Musikvideo zum Song „Personality“, das in Zusammenarbeit mit Chris Born (Rantanplan, Milowings, Beck & Rius) gedreht wurde, veröffentlicht. The duo POWDER FOR PIGEONS from Perth, Australia has made a name for itself over the past few years by touring as headliner as well as supporting scene legends or as guest at the most popular festivals of the Stoner and Alternative Rock community. On 01.03.2019 their third album “Over & Out” will be released as ‘Marbled Mud‘ vinyl and digitally with seven powerful songs right on time for the start of the same-named European tour.

About six years ago, fate had the very special idea of ​​bringing together two musicians from the opposite ends of the world. Since then the Australian singer and guitarist Rhys and the German drummer Meike Jones, who got married in Las Vegas,  have formed a unique tandem, which gave rise to the desire to create a common ‘wall of sound and filth‘. Due to the nature of the matter POWDER FOR PIGEONS were born. Inspired by the harsh surroundings of the hot and dusty outback of Western Australia, the power duo has developed a gigantic sound that fills the frequency spectrum with punchy, warm, deep, dirty guitar riffs and pounding drums that can be heard miles away.
