THE KILLERHERTZ überzeugen mit messerscharfen Riffs und brachialen Stadion-Soli, die das Herz eines jeden Gitarren-Fans höher schlagen lassen. Die präzise, mitreißende Rhythmusarbeit sorgt für stetes Mitnicken, das nur durch den Drang ergänzt wird, die Faust beim nächsten Gig gen Bühne zu recken. Doch spätestens der kraftvolle Gesang weckt den Ausnahmezustand in Sachen Melodie, Dynamik und Sing-Along-Faktor. Mit Vocals, Gitarren, Bass und Drums sind die Dänen mit der klassischen Heavy Metal Instrumentierung schlechthin besetzt. Kein Schnickschnack, keine Keyboards – THE KILLERHERTZ liefern authentischen Modern Hardrock, der zu seinen Wurzeln steht, dabei jedoch keineswegs vor einem aktuellen Sound und zeitgemäßen Arrangements zurückschreckt. Die zehn Songs wurden dabei von keinem Geringeren als Ex-Metallica Produzent Flemming Rasmussen veredelt, der mit seinem voluminösen Mix gekonnt den Spagat aus Tradition und Blick nach vorn meistert. „A Mirror‘s Portrait“ erscheint am 17.11.2017 über Dr. Music Records im Vertrieb von Soulfood.

THE KILLERHERTZ stammen aus Kastrup, einer Kleinstadt nahe Kopenhagen. Die Band wurde im Frühjahr 2011 von Sänger und Gitarrist Thomas Trold (ex-PitchBlack) sowie Drummer Kent KillerHertz gegründet, die bereits seit ihrer Kindheit eine sehr enge Freundschaft verbindet. Lead-Gitarrist Fonster (ex-In A Void, ex-PitchBlack und ex-The Omnihil) und Jonas Roxx am 4-Saiter komplettierten schließlich das Line-Up. 2014 veröffentlichten die vier Dänen ihr erstes Full-Length Album „A Killer Anthem“, das gleich dem neuen Epos „A Mirror‘s Portrait“ in den Earplug Studios aufgenommen und von Flemming Rasmussen in den Sweet Silence North Studios gemixt und gemastert wurde. Das Debüt wurde dabei äußerst positiv aufgenommen, sei es seitens der Kritiker oder der bereits etablierten Fangemeinde des Quartetts. «A sound that brings the audience back to the glorious days of the 90s.» – Getreu diesem Motto gestalten sich neben dem Sound auch die Lyrics auf „A Mirror‘s Portrait“ organisch und abseits von banalen Heavy Metal Klischees. Die mehrdimensionalen Aspekte des alltäglichen Lebens, wie zwischenmenschliche Krisen, zerbrochene Beziehungen oder Verlust werden auf sensible Art und Weise geschildert und berühren den Hörer. Einflüsse von Metallica oder Megadeth sind im Songwriting ebenso auszumachen wie ein musikalischer Bezug zu klassischem Hard ‘n‘ Heavy der Güteklasse Sinner oder Pretty Maids. THE KILLERHERTZ bieten im Hinblick auf Sound und Songs höchsten Abwechslungsreichtum und Spielfreude, was man gerade Tracks wie dem Titel „A Mirror‘s Portrait“, der versucht Seelenwelten zu ergründen, „Crash and Burn“, in dem das Leben auf eine Umleitung geschickt wird, oder dem furiosen „Renegade Patrol“ anmerkt. Sich selbst sieht die Band als Bindeglied zwischen der 80er und 90er Heavy Metal Szene kombiniert mit mehr Modern Rock und einer Prise dänischer Rock Vibes. Mit der Hymne „Teenage Rebellion“, die es bereits im aktuellen Musikvideo zu hören gibt, setzt sich Bandleader Thomas Trold mit dem viel zu schnellem Heranwachsen seiner Kinder auseinander und den daraus folgenden Veränderungen für das eigene rebellische Ich, das nun als Vorbild agiert. THE KILLERHERTZ sind jung genug und heiß auf Mehr, weshalb die Planung für etliche Konzerte auf Hochtouren läuft.

THE KILLERHERTZ bieten auf „A Mirror‘s Portrait“ große Gitarrenkunst, die deutlich aus der Kopenhagener Undergroundszene heraussticht. At least the powerful voice awakens the state of emergency in terms of melody, dynamics and sing-along factor. With vocals, guitars, bass and drums, the line-up of the Danes has the classic Heavy Metal instrumentation. No frills, no keyboards – THE KILLERHERTZ provide authentic modern Hard Rock, which is inspired by its roots, that however does not shrink from an up-to-date sound and modern arrangements. The ten songs were refined by none other than ex-Metallica producer Flemming Rasmussen, who mastered with his voluminous mix the balancing act between tradition and the look ahead. “A Mirror’s Portrait” will be released on 17.11.2017 through Dr. Music Records distributed by Soulfood.

In 2014, the four Danes released their first full-length album, “A Killer Anthem”, which alike the new epos “A Mirror’s Portrait” was recorded in the Earplug Studios and mixed and mastered at the Sweet Silence North Studios by Flemming Rasmussen. The debut was extremely well received, whether by the critics or the already established fan base of the quartet. «A sound that brings the audience back to the glorious days of the 90s.» – True to this motto, the lyrics on “A Mirror’s Portrait” are put into shape organically and stand apart of banal Heavy Metal stereotypes. The multi-dimensional aspects of everyday life, such as interpersonal crises, broken relationships or loss, are portrayed in a sensitive way and touch the listener. Influences by Metallica or Megadeth can be heard in the songwriting as well as a musical reference to classic Hard ‘n’ Heavy of the quality class Sinner or Pretty Maids. THE KILLERHERTZ offer the highest level of variety and joy of playing in terms of sound and songs. This recently can be heard on tracks like “A Mirror’s Portrait”, trying to fathom the world of souls, “Crash and Burn”, in which life has to follow a diversion, or the furious “Renegade Patrol”. The band sees itself as a link between the 80s and 90s Heavy Metal scene combined with more Modern Rock and a pinch of Danish Rock vibes. With the anthem “Teenage Rebellion”, which can be heard in the current music video, band leader Thomas Trold deals with the rapid growth of his children, facing the consequences for his own rebellious ego, which now acts as a role model. THE KILLERHERTZ are young enough and fired up for more, wherefore plans for quite a lot of concerts run at full speed.

On “A Mirror’s Portrait” THE KILLERHERTZ provide great guitar work, which definitely stands out from the Copenhagen underground scene.
