THE ULTIMATE THRASH ATTACK – 20 years of anger & destruction

An den Thrashern CONTRADICTION vorbeizukommen war in den vergangenen Jahren beinahe unmöglich: durch Tourneen mit Größen wie OVERKILL oder SACRED REICH, regelmäßige Festival-Präsenz und unermüdliches Durchpflügen der Bühnen im In- und Ausland haben sie sich den Ruf einer hervorragenden Live-Band erworben. 2008 legten die vier Prügelknaben sogar als erste Metalband überhaupt eine komplette und überaus erfolgreiche Island-Tour hin. Pünktlich zum 20. Bandjubiläum werden die Thrasher im Herbst ihr sechstes Album „The Essence Of Anger“ veröffentlichen, das sich mit der CONTRADICTION-typischen Symbiose aus Aggressivität und Melodie sofort in euren Gehörgängen festsetzen wird.

Mit „The Voice Of Hatred“ ergatterten sie einen Deal mit dem Wacken Label Armageddon Music und ging mit keinem Geringeren als der US-Legende OVERKILL auf Tour. Im direkten Anschluss folgte eine Reihe Festival-Shows, allen voran ein grandioser Gig auf dem Wacken Open Air. Das alles hatte nun auch eine steigende Nachfrage aus dem Ausland zur Folge, so dass CONTRADICTION bald in Holland, Belgien, Dänemark, Luxemburg, Schweiz, Österreich, Tschechien und Italien auf der Bühne standen. Direkt nach der VÖ des fünften Studio-Albums “The Warchitect“ ging es im Frühjahr 2007 auf Headliner-Tour quer durch Deutschland, Benelux, Schweiz und Italien. Eine stattliche Festival-Saison (u.a. Rock Harz, Rockfalls, Suffering Life…) wurde durch den „Special Guest“-Slot für die europäischen Tourdates der US-Legende SACRED REICH gekrönt: Jeden Abend begeisterte man vor vollen Häusern und gewann eine Menge neuer Fans hinzu.

Das Jahr 2009 stand zunächst voll und ganz im Zeichen der Aufnahmen zur neuen CD „The Essence Of Anger“. Produziert hat die Band im Blast It! Studio von Frontmann Olli. Für das Mastering konnte Tim Buktu (u.a. International Noise Conspiracy, Massacra) gewonnen werden. Zwölf kompromisslose Thrash Granaten für ihre hungrigen Fans in aller Welt sind entstanden und beweisen einmal mehr, dass echter Thrash Metal nur aus Good Ol‘ Germany stammt! Mit der notwendigen Mischung aus Melodie und geballter Härte braucht es sich vor nichts und niemanden zu verstecken! Trotz der Studio-Phase haben es sich CONTRADICTION nicht nehmen lassen weiterhin Clubs und Festivals in ganz Europa zu zerlegen. Sei es bei gefeierten Shows auf Malta, auf dem Rock In‘ Transilvania Festival in Rumänien oder etlichen heimischen Festivals wie Hammerstein MetalFeast in Wuppertal oder dem Neuborn Open Air. CONTRADICTION sind ohne Pause in der Metal Welt unterwegs. Mit „The Essence Of Anger“ im Gepäck geht es im Winter nach Russland und im kommenden Jahr nach Asien.

It was quite impossible to pass the die-hard thrashers CONTRADICTION over the last years: European tours with bands like OVERKILL or SACRED REICH, steady festival-appearances and relentless touring gained this four-piece the reputation of being a kick-ass live band. In summer 2008 CONTRADICTION were even honoured to become the first german metalband ever to tour Iceland. Celebrating their 20th anniversary CONTRADICTION will release their 6th studioalbum „The Essence Of Anger“ right in time, that will deliver everything a metalhead desires: aggressive, heavy, but yet melodic metal tunes.

With the release of the album „The Voice of Hatred“ they got a deal with the Wacken Open Air label Armageddon Music, this led to the support-slot for the european tourdates of legendary OVERKILL (USA) and was followed by some festival shows, especially a great gig at the Wacken Open Air. This also drew attention to CONTRADICTION in other countries and so the band also performed in Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. Right after the release of the 5th album „The Warchitect“ CONTRADICTION hit the road for a headlining tour through Germany, Benelux, Switzerland and Italy. The tour followed by a strong festival-season, where CONTRADICTION played some renowned stages such as Rock Harz, Rockfalls, Suffering Life and more. Subsequently SACRED REICH have chosen CONTRADICTION to be „special guest“ on their european tourdates. Every show sold out was successfull and CONTRADICTION won lots of new fans.

Early 2009 was especially marked by studio-recordings of the new album „The Essence Of Anger“. Produced in the BLAST IT! Studio of frontman Olli and mastered by Tim Buktu (International Noise Conspiracy, Massacra). Twelve tracks, tough-minded thrash metal grenades for their hungry fans all over the world arise to life and show that true thrash metal can only come from good ol‘ Germany! With the necessary combination of melody and concentrated aggression it is an album the band can be proud of. In spite of the studio-sessions CONTRADICTION has not stopped to devastate clubs and festival stages all over Europe, like acclaimed shows on Malta, on Rockin‘ Transilvania Festival in Romania or some domestic festivals like the Hammerstein MetalFeast in Wuppertal or the Neuborn Open Air. CONTRADICTION are constantly on the road without respite in the metal world. With „The Essence Of Anger“ in their luggage the band will travel to Russia in winter and next year to Asia.
