In Dänemark explodiert momentan die Metal Szene auf höchstem Niveau. Bands wie Illdisposed, Volbeat, Mnemic, Mercenary, Raunchy, Iron Fire, Hatesphere oder Barcode waren erst der Anfang.

Nun folgt mit PitchBlack und ihrem internationalen Debüt “Designed To Dislike“ der nächste Hammer modernen Metals. Aggressive thrashige Shouts verbunden mit klarem Gesang und bittersüßen Gitarrenmelodien. Modern Melodic Death Thrash – So oder so ähnlich kann man diesen Sound beschreiben. Auch die Songtexte aus der Feder von Sänger DanIhjel Fonseca Almazán Trokmar sind die Beachtung wert, denn der Frontmann setzt sich nicht nur mit Metal-typischen Themen und Politkritik auseinander sondern hat auch seiner verstorbenen Mutter mit „Angelized“ einen lyrisch-musikalischen Gedenkstein gesetzt.

Band History:
Bereits bei ihrem ersten Konzert 2003, dem „Danish Melodic Death Metal Grand Prix“ gewannen PitchBlack die Preise für die besten Gitarristen, den Publikumspreis und den Hauptgewinn. Zwei Jahre später erreichten sie bei den mit Top-Stars besetzten „Danish Metal Awards“ das Halbfinale. Sieger damals Illdisposed. In der Folge spielten sie in Dänemark mit Bands wie Gorefest, Illdisposed, Mnemic, Urkraft, Soil und vielen mehr.

Produziert wurde die Platte von Cornerstone Mastermind Steen Mogensen und Gitarrist Thomas Pedersen. Für das Mastering konnte mit Andy Horn eine weitere Größe gewonnen werden, denn dieser arbeitete bereits für Rob Halford, Liv Kristine oder den deutschen Chartbreakern Majesty.

By signing a contract with Limited Access Records they are showing everyone that PitchBlack is here for good. A serious band with a serious attitude. And with a goal: make the world kneel at their feets.

About the music
Reviewers all over Europe has received PitchBlack’s earlier demos with open arms but they seem to disagree on their style.

No category suits their music correctly. The band themselves has no opinion on their style. They just play. – Plug in -1-2-3-4 – action. The most important for them is that they have fun when they practise and that the music has a quality they all can agree on.

A quick description of their music
Straight forward up-tempo melodic death metal with influence from the swedish scene. Punishing riffs, battling drums, growls and depressing clean vocals are the trademarks of PitchBlack. Turning more and more dirty. More angry. About to lose control!

Influences
The five unheavenly creatures from the band digs all kinds of different music styles, ranging from ordinary pop/rock to brutal death metal – this cocktail of different influences is what makes PitchBlack unique.

What to expect live
PitchBlack know that they are in the entertainment industry. They know that when ever they hit the stage, the crowd expect them to perform. For same reason they won the price for – best performance – the very first time they played live at a contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. Therefore: expect an energetic band that communicates with the crowd and treasures every second that they perform on.
